3D printing

Greetings surviving dinosaurs,

my wife's school purchased a £D printer for a bout $300 and their students are learning printing code.

I saw one of the objects printed and it was amazingly detailed. That particular print code was a demo for the object and had been supplied with the printer.

I would like to print a small car part that is no longer manufactured but need to know where I could get the part scanned for printing.

Any clues.

I'm tipping AJ will know....as he is the go to gadget man.

cheers

Bruce

What's the part? Always a chance my brother might be able to source it.

Guaranteed this transmission type part is off the radar AJ but I would like to replicate them. Geeks would be good.

Re: 3D printing

Another part you could make a motza out of is a small plastic attachment cover for the landing gear on a Phantom 4 drone. Not well designed and they pop out in anything but the most gentle landing from the gear flexing. All of about 10mm x 6mm x 3mm plug, compound curves, etc, and a left hand/right hand version. They actually cover a sensor wire, so as unlikely as they are to be damaged, you don't want to take that chance with $2k of equipment.

4 per drone x ??? million P4 drones sold? It's not an "if" these are needed, it's a "when".

Re: 3D printing

OK, it's taken a while, but people are away on holz and/or working at the Oz Open.

Anyways, best option so far seems to be this mob. They charge, but still looking for a free/cheap option as people come back from summer daze....
