Diesel mechanic Melbourne South East - Any recommendations?

The Mrs' vehicle Terracan CRDI (Pajero with an ugly body) has a little issue with a coolant leak. Pretty sure it's the pipe that delivers coolant to the turbo. Not a major job, but a shit of a thing to get to.

I need to find a decent diesel mechanic on the Peninsula that can sort it, and service the vehicle into the future. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Only mech on the Peninsula I'd go to is Cammo Offroad in Somerville, 59778655.
He doesn't normally like standard mundane servicing stuff, preferring fab and mods, but give Cam a call anyway.

Thanks mate. Tried calling, but goes to messagebank.

Will try again Monday.

Anybody you'd recommend further north? Otherwise might have to take it to the fella my Sis' in law takes hers to down at Foster. Don't really want to have to do that though....

Mt Waverley, Kent at Glenmount auto.
9544 4000

Both kent and Cam have done servicing and repairs and fab work for me, happy to recommend either. Can't speak for any business in between the two.

Actually... Jared at Bay Rd 4wd... corner Bay rd and Reserve rd Cheltenham. Nice bloke lives Langy sure he'd do a good job

Not sure if these are in the area you need though.

Cheers mate

The Cheltenham one could work well, neighbour's sons work next door, I think.

Gave Jared a call, but he's just about to go off on hols. He was extra helpful though, and gave me the details of a fella just around the corner at Chandos Automotive. Mrs took the vehicle up, but he couldn't see the origin of the leak, and the motor was still too hot, but it turns out he lives just around the corner from me, and will collect it on his way to work next week.

Was also a great way to demonstrate to the Mrs that you don't just go to any ol' mechanic.

Thanks mate

Uncle and auntie run the petrol terrican
on lpg too

they have the coin to buy pretty much any wagon they want, new, being retired.

They love it so much they won't upgrade.
they do ALOT of towing, thinks its a little heavy on fuel but been extremely reliable.

Very underated vehicle, considering they had a suspension upgrade option from the factory suited to towing.
extremely cheap 4wd with great value, reliability built in
and dirt cheap on the used car market

Gotta agree.

I'm going to drop some GQ or GU coils in it though. It has the tow pack, which is nice, but I want more lift and better articulation. Will make a great tourer once I'm done with it.

We picked this one up for $5K with only 160,000km on the clock. They're apparently a 2nd Gen Paj underneath the ugly body.

He is. And many thanks for your help mate

Turns out it was a couple of loose hose clamps at the rear of the engine, but the coolant was running down the side of the block, mid way along. Took a bit of searching to find it.
