Well my son did it again

He bought another Land Rover, but this time it has four doors and a turbo diesel. He loves them, and is already planning on buying the next one in 3 yrs

I do believe there are support networks available.

Would you like me to move this to the Personal Support section?

It can be bashed out of him.

Or introduce him to Grimace, some unwanted man love between Rover enthusiasts will soon see him realising the error of his ways.

Ahh, Land Rovers. The only vehicle on earth that will never need a GPS to get you home. All you need to do is tell the tow truck driver to follow the oil drips on the road to get to your house, like a breadcrumb trail. :D :D

Re: Well my son did it again

One of the advantages of owning a landrover - especially one of the older ones is that fact that you can do just about all of the work on them with a few spanners.

The disadvantage is that you have to do so much work on them.......

If it's a Series I/II/III or Defender it will not be in "comfort". By far the worst ergonomics of any vehicle made in any century.

Landrovers don't leak oil - they are simply marking their territory.

Re: Well my son did it again

2 blokes at work, who are mates, recently bought 2 near identical Discos. Late model, only a couple of years old. It was a fair distance away that they bought them, maybe Sydney or Melbourne, which is a distance from Central Qld. Anyhow, for some reason they decided to make a road trip of it, and tow a car trailer with one of their existing vehicles that they had traded on the deal, down to collect the 2 vehicles. One being driven up towing the other on the car trailer. Apparently somewhere on the way home, the tow car shit itself with a stuffed gearbox, so they put it on the trailer, and the one that was being trailered became the tow vehicle. EXCEPT it didn't have a towbar, so they had to remove that from the stuffed one and install it on the new tow vehicle. Dumb and dumber at work.

nah .... ya got it all wrong .....

they saved a fortune by not fitting wireing, a sender, a globe and a little red plastic window with "oil" written on it......

instead .....
when you CANT see oil drips then that's when you need to add oil

exact same system on Harley's
:finger:
And your cry-baby, whinyassed opinion would be.....?
