The problem that I see is if they weren't caught, would they still be doing it?
Rule #1 - Never argue with an idiot.
Rule #2 - If you find an idiot trying to argue a point, Refer to Rule #1

Of course they wouldn't be still doing it , they would have each had an personal and religious epiphany, found God of their own free will and volition, became model citizens and gone on to assisting prisoner rehabilitation by teaching them art.

or been very rich by now ;)

Think about it - if they had left Indonesia and been caught in Oz, they would have been locked up for 5 years? and by now would well and truly be out and doing the same thing again and again. A friend of mine who was a screw in the local gaol once said "Never trust a druggie". They had murderers, rapists, thieves and druggies and of all of them they didn't trust the druggies because they were totally unpredictable.

Not to be confused with the other argument - their country, their rules.

Of course, the bali nine (especially the bali 2) have confessed and given up the names over the evil overlords. Not.
Further justification for a high speed lead pill.

Anyone also note that Myuran has been granted a fine arts degree from Curtin Uni in Canberra?

To many politics - presidents making names for themselves as being anti drug. Too many judges involved. too much breaking our procedure of catch them here rather than OS. Lots of things not right.

Being the tree hugger that I am. why torture them so much? Give them a quick injection, rid the world yada yada. Would you being honest with yourself pull the trigger?

And carry the memory of it for the rest of your life?

Heard an interview with an ex US Army sniper recently, he talked about vivid memories and dreams/nightmares of every single enemy soldier he'd shot.

I imagine toady's compadres who've pulled a trigger on duty do too, whether it was deserved, justifiable, or unavoidable..

I don't dispute for a second that many people deserve to die for their crimes. Sanctioning death however can never be justified imo.

Why is this in a thread about the imminent demise of Australia's most laughable and hated Prime Minister?

Oh, I know.

Distraction.

Well how about that sick fuck that "married" a 12yo girl in Sydney? That's what we should really be up in arms over.

He and anyone else involved ( imam , parents , relatives ) in that should be prosecuted to the full extent of the legislation as they have "procured and groomed the child", placed on a sex offenders register and be subject to all that entails. Thats after they do 5-10 years. :bad-words: simply cos we can't shoot 'em.

NOT defending Chester (should be castrated with a blunt and rusty razor blade), but before people get on their high horses, remember so much of Western popular culture about young girls, sweet 16, etc. ??? I think ABBA were probably the first rock group to question that whole culture (Does your mumma know?), and that was only 40 years ago. Glass houses people.....

Re: Abbotts Gone

A big thanks to Abbott for proposing to the US for them to "ask" Australia to provide assistance in Syria. Nothing like using our military to provide a convenient political distraction at home.

Nothing has drastically changed in Syria in the last year or so.

Truly the lowest act of political bastardry.

Re: Abbotts Gone

You honestly think nothing has changed in Syria in the last year ?

Australia's military have been providing assistance in Syria for some time. Now that may be expanded to engaging forces in Syria instead of an intelligence gathering and information role.
