hilux powersteering

can anyone help me with putting some kind of powersteering in my 85 hilux with a 2l in it? cheers surely someone out there has done this before

Get the right pump/brackets, Box, lines and a drivebelt and your well on you way just need to bolt it up. Seach in here and also in members section

A pump setup off anything with a 2l in it should be right. The box can come off 2nd or 3rg gen lux so up to mid 97 anything with a solid axle will work and lines to suit as they didn't change the chassis anything that will matter the only thing with the lines is i can't recall where the 2l pump mounts if it's the same place as a 3L you can use them lines. hope that helps a bit

Yep ive done this, not sure where the pump and steering box came from cause they came with the car but they bolted on easily enough only things i needed from memory were the lines that i got made up and i had to shorten shaft and a i bought a fluid tank from supercheap for 50 buks. one of the best mods i have done to the old girl, lol

Motor in your lux should be a 3y for that year model, I got my power steering pump and bracket by going into the "find a part" website.
