We run all three of the makita ones. Have been great so far. I would not buy the baby brushed unit again, as the baby brushless is so much better.

Re: Is it all smoke and mirrors--

Took me 14 hours to drive the 350ks home from Byron bay once. Water in the fuel.
Signed up with NRMA - what useless pricks they turned out to be. Ended up fixing it myself every 10ks by draining the fuel filter and re installing. 2am finish.

It's the testing times that makes you strong!

Bizarre as this sounds, I would love to source an Austin 1800 ("land crab") and repower it with a modern engine and electrics. I used to own one as a first car and it was an impressive cruising car W I D E in the front and back with comfy seats and surprisingly quiet on road with excellen...

Re: Awning Brackets

I have a number of patents myself, so have a good idea what is involved. They are cheap if you do an innovation patent. Your idea would no get a regular patent anyway, as it is not a new concept, as awnings have been attached to cars already. You could have it sorted under 1k.

Best regards,

Justin

Re: My next car?

I like the 86, but it would need some serious work to make it a mans car. 55% of the owners are 55 year old woman. When they have work done they are touch and go 'ricer' There is no way in hell I would buy a high end Aussie car. It is like taking a fist full of cash and flushing it. 60k = 5k when yo...

Guys with big tyres swear by them - 37" and over. I only use knock on lead on my wheels though.

TD, with your knowledge of the rules here in Qld. The proliferation of LED light bars poses some interesting questions. The most common place is on top of a bull bar, or up on a roof rack. I have both, almost. I do have a light bar up on the roof rack, but I have the fuse removed from the holder (u...
