Im toying with putting a 2" body lift into the hilux, but ive got an ARB winch bar- which is pretty solidly mounted (cradles the front cross member)
So has anyone ever managed to sucessfully modify one to suit a 2" body lift?
if so- How???? |

Yep I did mine back in about 2000. 1 vertical cut down each side just in front of where it bolts to the chassi. move bits the 50mm then reweld them. Then just add some flat plate to either side of the join to help re stregthen it. Put 2 little infill bits to help with looks on the front of the bar and your done
Bubs and I are modding the ARB for my 80 this weekend, but its a bit different as we are modding it from suiting a 3 inch body lift back to suiting a 2 inch body lift. |

Did the same to a deluxe, just pick the right spot, two x vertical cut, move 50mm and reweld/plate.

if you guys have any photos showing where you cut, it would be much appreciated!
i'll definately do it if its that simple... i just got my hands on a single 33" tyre and now i want to run them on the truck!
And has anyone extended the shifter to match the 2" lift? |

Shifter extension is also basic.
Cut it close to the trans and add in a piece of round bar 2" long weld up.
Do this where the stick is straight.
I will ask the guy who has my lifted bar to get some photos, see how he goes.
