got it on monday, figured out how to get gamespy working and playing mutiplayer on the carnage track is crazy.

With the technology and physics behind games like the rFactor game engine, it would be possible for someone to make a more realistic 4WD sim. Wonder if it will ever happen though....

with www.insaneheat.com if you go into the search section and search for any of the maps and vehicles made by "fat alfie" you should be happy....he has made some really fun maps and buggys for that game

Just to emphasise; remembering that rFactor is a platform so advanced it's almost not fun (too hard, too real) and has more available controls than what there are keys on the keyboard (no joke), of course you need a wheel to drive.

But as far as terrain detail goes, check this out compared to Insane. This is at only 1024x768 and NOT max settings! Recognise the track? Very Happy

The V8 conversion, like the hundreds of others available, is a completely public modification, free and legal. Once you buy the rFactor platform you are free to D/L any of the thousands of mods available.

What i'm saying is that if a bunch of volunteer modders can make something like that from a base engine, I wonder if it can be done on as a 4WD crawling platform?

How do they make different models have different engine sounds? Is there only a select few you can "choose" for an engine sound?
The V8 GU ute sounds a sweet but is rediculously fast. would be cool if you could make your GQ sound like a turbo diesel.
